Isekai Wa Smartphone to Tomo Ni (In Another World With My Smartphone) is a Japanese light novel series written by Patora Fuyuhara and illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka. The anime television series was adapted by Production Reed aired from July to September 2017.

Touya Mochizuki was accidentally killed by God, and as an apology, allows him to be reborn in a fantasy world. Touya was granted one wish and ends up choosing to keep his smartphone. With his second chance at life, he befriends other characters and comes across the world’s secret. He inherits a part of an ancient civilization and travels around while possessing powers that has no rival.

Where In The World?

The story, characters, animation, style, and sound are all bordering mediocre or low quality. There isn’t any really good thing about this anime, technical wise.

However, I did enjoy this anime enough to watch it and finish till the end. I was always wondering where they will lead the story. What kind of obstacles Touya was going to face since he was such an OP character in this world.

In the end, the anime didn’t answer any of my questions but answered the only question that mattered. Will Touya hook up with any of the girls?

In the end, this is a fantasy, harem anime – and did it deliver in the end.

I’ve read and watched my fair share of harem anime & manga and I’ve only seen a couple that actually fulfills what every boys/men fantasy/daydream is when they check out this kind of material. For the most part, it never does with the way a story is set up (love triangle where one must be left out) or due to the story arc (2nd season is coming).

Let’s just say,  Isekai Wa Smartphone to Tomo Ni fulfills what every other harem anime fails to deliver, an actual conclusion. Most harem animes’ out there never answers that question, if they will hook up with a girl in the group. Isekai Wa Smartphone to Tomo Ni actually does it, and it does it in a way that all harem fans will be satisfied (and then some).

Overall, this anime is the equivalent of a Michael Bay popcorn movie. You will not get smarter but if you are willing to turn off your brain on one Sunday afternoon. You will have some fun.

I give this anime, 3/5 stars. Thanks for reading and let me know what you thought of it! 🙂
